Presented by Marc Johnson, Executive Director, East Central Minnesota Educational Cable Cooperative (ECMECC)
Hosted by Christine Fox, Deputy Executive Director, SETDA

This edWebinar will provide an overview of SETDA’s latest report, The Broadband Imperative III: Driving Connectivity, Access and Student Success, which advocates for robust broadband access both on and off school campuses to best prepare all students for college and the workforce. The 2019 report expands on earlier recommendations from SETDA’s 2012 and 2016 Broadband Imperative reports and the 2019 State Leadership for K12 Broadband reports. These reports push educators and policymakers around the country to support quality, equitable, high-speed broadband access for all students with specific recommendations regarding access, funding, and policies to support learning in the digital age. Based on continuing trends in teaching, learning, school administration, and the experiences of states and districts, The Broadband Imperative III: Driving Connectivity, Access and Student Success expands on the previous recommendations with an emphasis on leadership and planning and continues to advocate for reliable, robust secure access on and off-campus.

In addition, learn how a cooperative of regional networks in Minnesota supports broadband development and leadership for Minnesota school districts. Various state organizations coordinate to ensure that all students in Minnesota have access to scalable infrastructure, high-speed affordable bandwidth, and ubiquitous Wi-Fi for digital learning. These organizations provide value-added services such as network security, digital curriculum resources, network management, distance learning support, and other enterprise-level services.

This edWebinar will be of particular benefit to school and district leaders, CIOs, and IT directors. There will be time to have your questions answered at the end of the presentation.
