In partnership with SHLB, Grantmakers For Education, national associations for bankers, school boards, and superintendents, the National Collaborative for Digital Equity is hosting the 2nd annual national summit, featuring ways bank Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and other philanthropic and investment funds can support systemic digital equity in lower-income communities.

The keynote by US Treasury deputy comptroller Barry Wides will update about efforts to modernize federal CRA regulations that require banks to invest $100 billion annually for economic inclusion. As at NCDE’s state summits, he will endorse CRA support for digital equity, from broadband infrastructure to refurbishing computers, to tech and librarian support.

This event brings together bank CRA executives, CRA policy makers, and school system leaders who determine where their district does its banking. Participants will learn about existing CRA funding strategies for digital equity, devise new ones (e.g.,  for EBS development in underserved areas), and nationally disseminate participants’ recommended next steps and policy proposals.
